Hello, I'm Joanne Goodall and I run Jo Jingles classes 6 days a week in the West Edinburgh and West Lothian areas.

Jo Jingles is the music class experience with the educational slant. We use music and movement, singing and nursery rhymes to entertain and educate young children.
Fun classes are available for babies and young children, aged 6 months to 5 years.
We also run sessions in Nurseries, Playgroups, Mother & Toddler Groups and Government-Funded Organisations.
Why do music with Young Children?

Countless research indicates that music aids the development of speech, social skills, confidence and self-expression. Music also helps children with maths and reading:

"When children learn rhythm, they are learning ratios, fractions and proportions" Professor Gordon Shaw, University of California.

"Singing songs to your child widens their vocabulary and improves listening skills, both of which make learning to read easier". Professor John Sloboda, Keele University.

A little about Joanne

I have always been musical and enjoyed playing the violin and clarinet and singing in choirs. After I had my third child I was looking for a change from my job in the civil service and saw an advert for Jo Jingles. I started in West Edinburgh in September 2002 and now run over 40 classes in local halls and in nurseries with the help of my colleagues.


We have taken Jo Jingles to the Edinburgh Fringe with sell out shows in 2003, 2006 and 2007 and have also taken part in the Edinburgh Festivals Cavalcade.
