Baby Classes -
Babies can start classes from around 6 months of age and can attend these sessions until they are walking or until they are approximately 1 year old and are confident enough to join the more active toddlers in the older class.
Baby classes are a gentle and relaxed introduction to singing, musical instruments and songs to do at home with carers. Classes will feature lots of fun lap based activities and will include bouncing, tickling and tactile songs.
Walking - 2s / 1 - 2s classes -
As many children are finding their feet at around this age range, classes become more active with a mix of moving, sitting and action songs to help keep the attention of the children for the duration of the class. Sessions feature lots of nursery rhymes and fun action songs with plenty of familiarity and repartition to help build confidence. Children will lean how to play simple percussion instruments, helping hand eye-co-ordination and fine motor skills and will also enjoy simple music and movement activities which helps to develop gross motor skills.
2 - 3s classes -
These classes feature weekly pre-school learning themes which help children to develop language, numeracy and communication skills and will help them identify with the world around them. Classes include lots of action songs designed to help encourage imagination and creativity as well as develop more skilled movements. Classes also feature a variety of instruments which children will become more adept at playing. Musical concepts such as rhythm, pace and dynamics will be included during instrument sections.
3 - 5s classes -
Children are becoming more independent at this stage and these classes will help to further develop confidence and social skills. Weekly themes continue and there is a greater degree of difficulty in action songs, movement and instrument playing with children learning to play as a band or use more than one instrument during a song. ‘Music Theory’ is also included in these classes, theses are fun modules that build over a number of weeks covering topics such as ‘Notation’, ‘Classical Music’, ‘Music from Around the World’ and ‘Musical Elements’. Fun colouring sheets which re-inforce the topics covered in each class are given to the children to enjoy at home.
5 - 7s classes -
Music Theory started in the 3 - 5s classes is expanded upon in these sessions and more complex concepts are covered. During these classes children will also be encouraged to think more independently about how the music makes them feel and what the music might be about. Children learn to not only play along to the music but develop their own rhythms.
Please note in some areas due to numbers, classes may be run with the wider age ranges of Over and Under 2. For more information about these classes please refer to your local Franchisee directly.
