Charity Fundraising through Music, Singing & Movement

BBC Children in Need Appeal

Once again we have to say a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to all Jo Jingles class members, families and friends who helped to raise an amazing £105, 000+ in our 2009 campaign for The BBC Children in Need Appeal. This is the most we’ve managed to raise in one campaign during the last 6 years and considering it hasn’t been the easiest time for people to donate, the public’s generosity never ceases to amaze us.

"BBC Children in Need wouldn't be able to help so many disadvantaged children and young people across the UK without the support of creative organisations like Jo Jingles, who join our Appeal and make the commitment to Do Something Different for BBC Children in Need. In 2009 Jo Jingles beat their previous year's total and raised a fantastic £105,297.85! Everyone involved should be very proud, it really does make such a difference to young lives across the UK"
BBC Children in Need

The theme for our fundraising for 2009 activities was ‘Boogie Bugs’, a song written by Ann Bryant, a friend of Jo Jingles who does some marvellous musical education work with young children.

Children and families participated in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the country in November 2009 in the run up to the main BBC 1 Appeal night. We had mini ladybirds, caterpillars, spiders and a whole host of friendly bugs at our charity Singalongs.

We are really grateful for all the support all our Jo Jinglers give to this campaign on an annual basis and we know the BBC Charity is thrilled that so many young children are becoming involved with fundraising at such a young age.

A number of Jo Jingles class teachers around the country have also been fortunate to visit children’s projects that receive support from the BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Val Chandler, Jo Jingles Beaconsfield has now been visiting a local Special Needs Playgroup in her area for over 3 years .

Jo Jingles enters the Pudsey ‘gold Hall of Fame’….!

It was also a very special year for 2 of our franchisees who were recognised by the BBC Children in Need Appeal Team for their amazing contribution to fundraising over the last few years.

Ronnie Morris (Jo Jingles South East Anglia) and Liz Wilson (Jo Jingles Poole) along with all their Jo Jinglers have managed to generate a magnificent sum of over £29,000 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal during the last 6 years. They were 2 of the 30 individuals selected by the BBC to receive the prestigious Pudsey gold badge in recognition of all their support.

Well done Ronnie & Liz!

Other Charities we like to support...

BARNARDO’S BIG TODDLE

During the last two years Jo Jingles has provided musical warm-up sessions before the Barnardo’s Big Toddles which take place annually throughout the country.

Here’s what Barnardo’s team has to say about our activities last year.

Cynthia Catchpole of the Big Toddle Team

"We would like to send a huge thank you from the Big Toddle Team to Jo Jingles for all the support given to Barnardo's Big Toddle 2009.

The musical warm ups really added value to our flagships events.

We would like to thank:
Sharon Burbidge and Debbie Marrs in Belfast
Jennifer Sim in Glasgow
Joanne Goodall in Edinburgh
Charlotte Baker in St Albans
Jackie Thornton in Bracknell
Paula Ridley in Harrogate
and Helen Maltby in Gateshead.

Special thanks to Beckie Clifton, Jo Jingles Norwich, who gave us a great warm up before the Big Toddle and entertained the children afterwards. Alison Wright who organised her own Big Toddle at Sandbach Donkey Derby. Mari-Vic Gomez who gave us a warm up at Derby Big Toddle and organised her own toddle with Sarah Breeze in Sutton Coldfield.

I am sure that, thanks to your promotion of the event, there were other Jo Jingles groups taking part with their own Big Toddles in other parts of the country.

We hope we can work together for Big Toddle 2010.

WALLACE AND GROMIT CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION

Children and their parents attending Jo Jingles classes in Tunbridge and surrounding areas wore the Wrong Trousers to help raise money for the WALLACE AND GROMIT CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION. The charity raises funds to help improve the quality of life of sick children in hospitals and hospices across the UK. "Although the main National Wrong Trousers Day is usually in June we chose to wear them all week so that all our children could participate", said Claire Lambert who runs the Jo Jingles in the Tunbridge area.

Claire, an ex-paediatric nurse, said "It was the obvious charity to support given that I had been so actively involved with sick children for so long before I bought my Jo Jingles business. I have worked in several London hospitals as well as our local Pembury hospital where I was a sister on Jacoby ward so I have seen first hand the trauma caused to children when they have to be hospitalised."

During the past 10 years several children have attended Jo Jingles Tunbridge who have needed regular hospital treatment, in particular William Howgill who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. William has to spend a lot of time at Kings College Hospital and Pembury and we’re thrilled he comes to classes.

For further information see www.jojingles.net or call Claire on 01732 361314.

AND WHEN OUR JINGLERS HAVE TIME THEY ALSO…………

Alison Wright, Jo Jingles Holmes Chapel and her daughter Lizzie have participated in the ‘Race for Life’ for Cancer Research UK. Last year they ran at Arley Hall in Cheshire and finished in a very pleasing 39 minutes. They were very lucky with the weather with only light showers.

Well done Alison & Lizzie!
