What is Jo Jingles?

Jo Jingles provides music and movement sessions to children from 6mths to 7years with an educational slant.

Jo Jingles classes enhance a child’s pre-school education by stimulating appreciation and enjoyment of music right from the beginning. Our classes use varied themed programmes focusing on elements such as colours, numbers and animals as well as providing a gentle, fun introduction to music theory.

Benefits of Music to children.

“Music – specifically song – is one of the best training grounds for babies, learning to recognise the tones that add up to spoken language.” - Trehub S, University of Toronto 1997.

We aim to gently introduce children to various percussion instruments and appreciate rhythms and notation.

“Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.” - Plato

Need I say any more? At Jo Jingles we believe ‘Music Rocks’. It’s a shame not to introduce such a simple thing to the children of tomorrow.

About Lisa

I am a degree qualified Critical Care Nurse which I am sure you will agree is a huge change of direction! How does music fit in then I hear you ask…? Well music has been a very large part of my life.

I was a keen violinist at school and studied to Grade 7 standard. I toured France with the North Eastern Ulster Schools Orchestra, and have been singing in choirs since primary school. My mum used to teach piano and plays regularly for the Girls Brigade, so there was always someone “tinkling” in the background.

I recently returned to nursing after my second child and needed something that allowed me to see my children growing up but long shifts and night duty prevented this. I took my daughter to Jo Jingles classes prior to my son’s birth (right up to 37 weeks!!!). She loved the classes just as much as I did and rhymed on and on until it was Friday again! I approached my now neighbouring franchisee for a teaching job and now here I am owning a franchise.

I have a committed class teacher who can teach me a thing or two – Kate, who really helps to make the classes a success. You can catch them in Ballyclare, Antrim, Carrick, Whitehead and Larne
