'Memorable Moments' Competition

The winner of our recent 'Memorable Moments' competition was received from Natalie in Wakefield. Second and third prize winners were Julie in Wetherby and Debbie in Leeds. Thank you to all who entered.

The winner's memorable moment:
An ongoing favourite moment for me occurs at each Jo Jingles session. Hearing Kelsi's voice amongst the adult's singing Sleeping Bunnies (even whilst she is 'asleep') brings a smile to my face and to many of the other adults present. Her joy at the song/dance is contagious. Long may it continue!

Dear Paula

I wanted to write to you personally to thank you for taking the Jo Jingles class that both my children attended. It was the best decision I made when I booked my first child, Max, in. I was used to working 24/7 and all my friends worked so when I had Max, I had to find a new life for myself - and what a life! - 45 min Jo Jingles class and then coffee mornings, coffee mornings, coffee mornings!! I met so many lovely people that I still stay in regular contact with now and when I started taking my second child, Olivia, I met another fantastic group of mums.

The kids loved the classes and looked forward to going and in all the time that I went, you never once let us down and had to cancel. You gave everyone equal attention and goodness knows how you remembered everyone's name!

The classes were very well structured and considering the young ages of the children, very calm!

I would recommend Jo Jingles to anyone and will miss my Tuesday morning sing alongs.

With thanks and best wishes

Cheryl Copley (mum to Max and Olivia)

Celebrating Ten Years of Jo Jingles

A musical celebration was the only way to recognise a successful ten years of Jo Jingles in Yorkshire.

Present and former Jo Jingles children were present at an afternoon of animal activity. The event, which took place at the beginning of April, began with craft activities - all based on an animal theme. Children from the ages of one to fourteen made a variety of lion, tortoise, elephant and stegosaurus puppets in addition to hanging Japanese fish and animal pencil tops. Budding artists also helped colour and paint a series of huge animal pictures which decorated the front of the stage for our Carnival performance.

Local musician, Nick Meredith, and his Carnival Orchestra then gave a performance of Saint-Saens' 'The Carnival of the Animals'. The performance was enhanced with narration and some audience participation! This was a unique opportunity for many very young children to hear a 'live' orchestral performance.

After the Carnival Orchestra's performance we invited our special guest - Big Jo - onto the stage. The day was complete with all the children joining in a variety of Big Jo's favourite songs including Wind the Bobbin, Jo Jingles says and the Fancy Dance.

The event was a great success and a FANTASTIC £1200.00 was raised for Martin House Hospice - Yorkshire's first hospice for children and young people.
