What is Jo Jingles?

Jo Jingles is the UK's leading provider of music and movement to children aged 6 months to 5 years. There are over 20,000 children attending a Jo Jingles session every week in over 500 locations! Classes have been running in the UK for over 10 years and have successfully been running in Cornwall for now over 5 years.

What happens in a Class?

Our 45 minute classes provide children with a fun, stimulating and educational introduction to music. The programme is split into short sections so that the children’s attention is maintained and with a maximum of 15 children in any one class individual attention and encouragement can easily be given.

Within a session children get to play two different percussion instruments, enjoy joining in with nursery rhymes, different action and movement songs all aided by the use visuals, puppets and props such as beanbags, streamers, teddies, wings and lycra.

Each session is carefully structured and is designed to suit your child’s particular stage of development. With the younger children there is lots of interaction with you/their carer with lap songs and plenty of simple movements and actions whilst older children progress to learn basic music principles as they sing and play and have lots of fun with rhythm and sound games.

Each week is kept fresh with a different theme such as colours, shapes, transport and the children love going on adventures with ‘Jo’ to the seaside, shopping or the zoo.

Jo Jingles becomes a favourite friend to the children and they all love to say ‘hello’ to Jo and give him a cuddle!

A little bit about me!

I was born and brought up in Cornwall and from a young age I loved ballet, tap dancing and performing on stage. I also loved singing joining both the church and school choirs and also the orchestra once I learnt the violin!

I have always loved working with children, as well as being a qualified teacher I have also run a crèche and worked in many nurseries. When I heard about Jo Jingles I jumped at the opportunity to take over the running of it in my area as it seemed the perfect way to combine both my passion for working with children and music. It is so rewarding to see the enjoyment and fun that the children have in the classes and the progress that they all make. The children’s enthusiasm is infectious and it is amazing how even the youngest child can hold a rhythm!
