National Childminding Association
National Childminding Week is taking place this year from 4th to 11th June 2011.
This years theme is "aspiration", reflecting the fact that registered childminders and nannies are uniquely placed to nuture interests and build on the future aspirations of the children in their care.

Playday is the national day for play, traditionally celebrated on the first Wednesday in August.
Playday 2011 is on the 3rd August.
On playday thousands of children and their families get out to play at hundreds of community events across the UK. Over 850 events took place to celebrate Playday 2010, making it the biggest on record!
As well as a celebration of children's right to play, Playday is also an opportunity to raise awareness about some serious issues affecting children's play.
