What happens at Jo Jingles?

With the help of Jo himself, a bright and "Happy little fellow, all dressed in red and yellow" who is always ready to join in the actions and knows over 900 songs! Classes last 45 minutes, and are restricted to a maximum of 17 children. We always use two different kinds of instrument each week including drums, tambourines, bells, maracas, cymbals, woodblocks, claves triangles and castanets. We may also use other props such as streamers, bubbles, wings, beanbags, parachutes and Lycra!

Each week we follow simple themes and make use of visuals and toys to illustrate the songs. At Jo Jingles parents and carers are actively encouraged to join in and have fun with the children - the more enthusiastic you are the more likely it is that your child will enjoy the classes. For the younger children music and movement are some of the best ways of promoting early language and co-ordination development whilst older children will have an introduction to musical notes, pitch, rhythm and musical appreciation.

Obviously not every child will be able to concentrate for the full 45 minutes of the class. The programmes for our classes are carefully planned, structured and fast moving. Children are not expected to sit down for any length of time and we use movement songs to channel their energies!

Our 3 years + classes have a small amount of theory work in each session, work covered so far has been listening to and acting out the different music in 'Carnival if the Animals', the aspects of music, e.g. Pitch, Pace, Rhythm, and Dynamics and we build up the use of multiple instruments using songs and books such as 'Going on a Bear Hunt' Children are issued with a folder and are given simple homework sheets (such as colouring in) to reinforce what has been covered in class.

How Do I Join?

You will need to book a place; we restrict class numbers to a maximum of 17.

Please take a look at OUR CLASSES page to find times and venues.
Call me on 01706 212889, or send me an email on jocorbettuk@aol.com and I will let you know availability.

Classes are term time only and are payable for a half term in advance. There is a £2.00 insurance fee per child per term. There is no joining fee.

If you have two children, you will find it easier to bring both your children to one class. We advise that you book into the older child's session and the younger child will follow the older children. I offer a discount for your second child, please ask for more information.
