Welcome to our website which tells you all about Jo Jingles in your area.
Hi. My name is Becky Ewins and I run Jo Jingles Music and Movement classes for babies, toddlers and preschool children, together with their parent/carer in Salisbury, Amesbury, Tidworth and Andover. The aim of the classes is to give young children a fun, informal and educational introduction to music, singing, instrument playing and movement activities, which will stay with them for life.

Jo Jingles is now in its record-breaking eleventh year as the leading provider of quality preschool Music and Movement classes. Classes are held weekly during term time, and give babies and toddlers a fun introduction to music, by singing and playing a wide range of percussion instruments. Movement is fundamental to our sessions, as we believe that little ones learn best when they are actively engaged and able to express themselves creatively using their whole bodies in the space available.

A typical session may see you and your little one skipping, jumping, marching, playing parachute games, waving sparkly pom poms, streamers or coloured squares, listening to a story, playing with puppets and learning about the world around us through singing many familiar (and some not so familiar but very catchy!) songs, action songs and nursery rhymes. Children also develop many skills including language, early mathematical and spatial awareness, and social skills such as taking turns, and it's a great opportunity for parents/carers to meet with others and form friendships too. Above all children enjoy and appreciate that music is fun, and this interest stays with them into school and beyond. Pre-booking is essential as classes are limited on numbers to retain a safe yet stimulating environment. So, why not book your class today, and come see why many children come to Jo Jingles and stay for years, and why their younger siblings can't wait till they're old enough to Jingle too!

Before opening my business in January 2005 I worked as a primary school teacher, and as well as working with primary aged children I have extensive experience of working with pre-school children in the nursery environment.

Music has always been a big part of my life. I have been playing the viola and piano since childhood, and Jo Jingles provides the perfect opportunity to combine my love of music and teaching to fit around the needs of my own family. I have seen first-hand in my own children the many benefits that musical activities can offer a child; indeed my nine year-old daughter is now a pupil at the top specialist music school in Britain, Chetham's in Manchester, and my seven year-old son enjoys trumpet and piano lessons. I feel privileged to be able to share music with your child at such a crucial and exciting time in their development.

Class Teachers

I am very lucky to be supported by two equally enthusiastic and lively class teachers who are just as passionate as I am about the importance of engaging young children in early musical activities, and are committed to providing the high quality interactive classes which continue to make Jo Jingles the leader in the field of early music education. They assist me by running their own sessions, both for children to attend with their parents/carers, and in local nurseries and preschools.

Judith Moores joined me in September 2006, and has been bringing her daughter to Jo Jingles classes since I launched classes, and has seen first-hand the enjoyment and benefits that attending classes brings. She is keen to share similar experiences with other parents and young children. Judith also has a musical background, being a keen singer and pianist, and has worked extensively with the Girls' Brigade and youth groups within her church, as well as being an experienced Sunday School teacher.

Jo Heath joined the team in June 2007. Also a former primary school teacher, Jo has extensive experience in both the primary and pre-school sectors, and is looking forward to combining her new role as Jo Jingles teacher with being a mum to her two boys, aged 9 and 7. Initially Jo will be running nursery and pre-school sessions, and putting her skills as a very talented artist to good use by creating many colourful hand-made visual aids and props for all of our classes.

Please have a look and see if there are classes at times to suit you and if you would like to reserve a place, download a registration form and post it to me at the address (bottom left) on the form, alternatively, why not call or email Becky first to check availability to avoid disappointment.
