Just wanted to say thank you so much for a great Jo Jingles session on Friday. Bethany absolutely loved it and has been talking about you and Jo ever since! She keeps saying we will see Jo next week. I'm so pleased that she has somewhere to go now ehere she can have fun, socialise and learn. It's a bonus i can stay with her!

Thanks again,

Charlotte (and Bethany!)

Hi Tara

This is a quick email just to say how pleased I am with the Jo Jingles Class I attend on Thursday mornings at the Old Fire Station in Hockley.

I must admit the first lesson I went to, I didn’t really know many of the songs which were sung and I did wonder if the next lesson would be the same. It wasn’t.

Leah loves the class, I do too, Sarah manages this really well, she is lovely with the children and its great to see all the children interacting and dancing to the music.

I don’t think people get as much recognition as they should do, so I have written this so Sarah gets the recognition she deserves.

Kind regards

Toni Tomli

BBC CHILDREN IN NEED APPEAL

Each November Jo Jingles South Essex joins in with the national fund-raising activities. Every single penny donated finds its way to a charity or project that works to improve the lives of children and young people throughout the UK. A number of the organisations to whom the BBC Appeal gives money aim to change the direction of young peoples’ lives in noticeable, long-lasting, and practical ways.

Congratulations Jo Jingles, South Essex for raising…

2008 Appeal - a remarkable £1,592.00

2007 Appeal - an amazing £1,972.05

2006 Appeal – a staggering £1,763.26 – a fantastic achievement

2005 Appeal - £680.97

2004 Appeal - £777.17

This has been achieved through the sale annually of a charity CD single, fancy dress parties, collecting loose change, and music quizzes. Many thanks to all those who supported the above.

HOCKLEY LIGHTS

Big Jo is always delighted to be invited to appear in the Arena in Hockley with his pre-school friends - he participates by playing percussion instruments and acting out songs to entertain the crowds before the Christmas Lights are switched on and the fireworks begin.

Every year the heavy rain stays away during the performance (he doesn't like his hair wet!!) and a good time is always had by all...

JO JINGLES IS FIVE YEARS OLD…- JULY 2004

Big Jo was thrilled to come to Essex for the first time to celebrate five years of classes.

Musical merriment gripped more than 150 children who turned out for the fifth birthday of the Jo Jingles pre-school music group.

A life size version of the music clubs mascot, Jo, turned up to celebrate the event which was held at Runnymede Hall in Kiln Road, Thundersley.

The club gives youngsters a chance to learn through music and singing.

Tara Dye, area co-ordinator for the group, said: "The children had a great time, and they loved meeting a life-size Jo as he is normally only there as a small rag-doll."
