Welcome to our site all about Jo Jingles in your area

Hello, my name is Emma Davis and I run the Jo Jingles Franchise in the Wells, Shepton Mallet, Street, Glastonbury, Taunton and Bridgwater area.

I am married to Tony, and am mother of 2 boys (Benjamin and Matthew).

I first came across Jo Jingles in 2001 when I began attending classes in Hertfordshire with Benjamin. We used to look forward to the classes and they made a lasting impression on both of us. When we decided to move to Somerset we had to say goodbye to Jo, but I was always hopeful we would not loose contact completely.

In October 2004 Jo came back into our lives, when, I took over running the Jo Jingles franchise for this area. I have always enjoyed working with and helping people (my professional background was in social work) and running my own franchise meant I could continue to do these things, whilst also being around to enjoy my own children's development.

Since October 2004 we have seen the number of children attending our classes grow and grow and we now operate 16 classes across 8 different venues.

WHAT IS JO JINGLES

Jo Jingles is the UK's leading provider of music and movement classes for pre-school children aged 6 months - 7 years. Nationally we have been running as a franchise for 10 years and our aim is to give children an enjoyable and creative introduction to music through a wide variety of activities.

For the younger children (6 months-2 years) these activities include nursery rhymes, action songs, music & movement, sound and rhythm games and playing musical instruments. The classes have an educational slant and cover some of the basic pre-school concepts of numbers, the alphabet, shapes, colours etc.

Older children also benefit from all the above activities as well as enjoying a gradual introduction to pitch, rhythm, dynamics, notation, instruments of the orchestra and musical notes. Jo Jingles classes for 3-7 year olds achieve many of the National Curriculum requirements for key stage 1.

Parents/carers stay with their children to share in the fun and help them get the most out of the classes.

WHY DO JO JINGLES?

Research shows us that music is vital to a child's development,

Our classes can help children:

  • Develop language and numeracy skills
  • Improve physical co-ordination
  • Develop routine and discipline
  • Gain confidence and independence
  • Interact and develop social skills

And most importantly - Have fun.
