What to expect at a Jo Jingles class
We start each class sitting in a circle on the floor. Every class follows a similar format as children like the familiarly and routine. As the children progress through the age groups, the children are challenged to be more independent and use greater levels of skill when doing the activities. Classes are usually a maximum of 15 children thereby making them more personal and comfortable.
We start the session with our welcome song, warm ups Jos song and Jo Jingles always introduces the theme when we have a look in his special bag!
We have two instrument sections, story time and lots of action songs familiar songs and some exclusive Jo Jingles songs! Music & Movement, sound and rhythm games.
Each child will have the opportunity to play two percussion instruments during the class. We have a wide range of props and visuals that we introduce throughout the class to aid the childrens learning, enjoyment and understanding of the theme of the week. Our themes, props, visuals and instruments are changed each week this is all part of the fun and excitement of our sessions , the children try and guess what Jo Jingles has brought in his bag and boxes each week!
Our class programmes are carefully planned to each specific age group and are fast moving so there is no time to get bored at Jo Jingles!
Parents and carers play a very important role at Jo Jingles, your child will be looking to you for encouragement and praise - you are actively encouraged to join in and have fun with your child the more enthusiastic you are, the more likely it is that your child will enjoy the class. Obviously not every child will be able to concentrate for the full 45 minutes of the class and we wouldn't expect them to. It may take a few weeks for your child to settle in to the class but once they become familiar with the class format, new surrounding and mixing with the other children they are usually participating with great enthusiasm!
