Why should I choose a music session for my child?
Countless research studies indicate that music aids the development of speech, social skills, confidence and self-expression. Music can also help with maths and reading:
When children learn rhythm, they are learning ratios, fractions and proportions - Professor Gordon Shaw, University of California .
Singing songs to your child widens their vocabulary and improves listening skills, both of which make learning to read easier - Professor John Sloboda, Keele University.
It’s also lots of fun and an opportunity to dedicate 45 minutes a week to a structured activity with your child!

Welcome to Jo Jingles!
Hi, my name is Charlotte and I run Jo Jingles classes in the areas of Abbots Langley, Bushey, Bricket Wood, Garston, Radlett, Rickmansworth & Watford, wonderfully assisted by my class teacher Diane.
Classes run in different venues five days of the week and we also visit The House That Jack Built Nursery in Watford on a fortnightly basis.
Jo Jingles now has over 100 franchisees like me and as the “leading provider of fun and educational music and movement classes” we have around 25,000 children per week attending classes in over 500 venues throughout the UK and Ireland.

A little bit more about me
I’ve been involved with with Jo Jingles since my son Ollie came to classes with me at 6 months of age. He still joins me from time to time, but now I’m ‘jingling’ full-time fitting in teaching classes and managing the business around family life. Having taught Jo Jingles classes for the past couple of years, it is evident that parents attending enjoy the sessions as much as their children. Classes are friendly, upbeat and loads of fun - but they also are tailored to the pace of learning for each age group, introducing gentle routine and discipline. Please get in touch if you would like any further information – I will always try to get back to you as quickly as possible!

A little bit more about Diane
Diane has recently joined the team and takes classes in Rickmansworth, Bricket Wood and Radlett. With her two children at secondary school, Diane is enjoying revisiting favourite nursery rhymes and songs! “Jo Jingles classes are so much fun to teach and it’s wonderful to see the children’s faces as the weekly themes are brought to life – sometimes we have exciting props, such as the parachute, the streamers or beanbags and sometimes the excitement is simply in the storytelling, with children being given the opportunity to use their own imagination”.

Hello from Jo
Jo is the heart and soul of our classes. He is extremely friendly and actively participates in all of our classes. At the start of each session he welcomes all children with a smile, a wave and a cuddle. Then he might sing or dance or pretend to be a train driver, a monkey or even a teapot. Sometimes he hides and we have to look for him. Sometimes he falls asleep and he needs some help to wake up. Sometimes he is shy and we have to encourage him to join in with the fun. But he always makes time for plenty of hugs and kisses when it’s time for the children to say goodbye.

Thank you for all your pictures!
Here’s Jo with just some of your homework sheets that you lovingly coloured in, as part of the Summer term music theory on Classical Music. Our older children listened to all kinds of music to spark their imaginations – from buzzy bees gathering pollen, to galloping horses and fishes swimming under the sea – our musical journey took us to all kinds of places!
For the new Autumn term, we are learning about ‘notation’ – so very soon our budding Mozarts and Madonnas in the 3-5 group will be able to tell the difference between crotchets, quavers, minims and semi-breves! |
