ALL ABOUT JO JINGLES

What to expect in a class

Classes are age specific and last 45 minutes and have varied sections to offer maximum stimulation for your child.

We require parents or guardians to stay and take part in all the classes to give the children support and then to share their experiences and songs during the week following each class. Throughout the class we encourage the children to feel that they are achieving and enjoying themselves.

Adults play an important part in the classes; children will respond well to plenty of praise and encouragement and will look to you as a role model especially in areas of listening and following instructions.

Our classes

Baby Classes

We have some lovely instruments, music and songs for this age-group. At this stage babies need close interaction and our classes are designed to help you bond with your baby, help them make sense of their emerging listening, language, fine and gross motor skills.

Classes for 1 - 2’s, 2 - 3’s and 3 - 5’s
For the over 1s, each week we have a different theme such as the weather, the body, numbers and colours. Songs naturally repeat through the weeks as they match the themes but each week is original and different so children can join at any time.

Classes are designed to suit development, so the 1 - 2 year olds have lots of interaction with their parents/carer, repetition to aid learning, lap songs, and plenty of simple movements and actions.

The 2 - 3 year olds are very busy little bodies so we keep them going with lots of movement and actions and we also introduce basic musical principles as they sing and play. The children learn to listen, watch and respond.

The 3 - 5 year olds are ready for more complicated actions and sequences and musical concepts are incorporated more often and in more depth. We will play musical games and work on special songs/music. As the group develops the children are encouraged to be more independent from their parent/carer.

Above all classes are relaxed and friendly and lots of fun, both for children and adults!

Introducing Jo – The happy little fellow all dressed in red and yellow!

Jo is the heart and soul of our classes. He is extremely friendly and actively participates in all of our classes. At the start of each session he welcomes all children with a smile, a wave and a cuddle. Then he might sing or dance or pretend to be a pilot, a train driver, a monkey or even a teapot. Sometimes he hides and we have to look for him. Sometimes he falls asleep so we have to wake him up. Sometimes he is shy and we have to encourage him. Before we leave we always give him a big cuddle.
