Hi! I’m Aileen Robinson

Welcome to my Jo Jingles classes in Falkirk, Stirling , Polmont & Stenhousemuir

I have always loved music - either singing, accompanying or directing choirs as well as playing the flute and piano.  These were always just hobbies and I never anticipated my working life would take a musical direction.  However, having worked as a Speech & Language Therapist for nearly 26 years, I swopped careers and joined Jo Jingles in 2009.  I have loved making music with friends’ children over the years, sitting at the piano and singing many traditional songs e.g.  Ally Bally, Highland Fairy lullaby and to see them respond at such a yo...

Ally Bally, Highland Fairy lullaby and to see them respond at such a young age is exciting.  Music has such a positive effect on children’s speech, language, physical and social development and it is a real pleasure to see the wee ones at Jo Jingles participate and develop in so many ways.  .

Jo Jingles is loved by the children who attend and it is great to see them embrace the routine and activities, gaining confidence as they do so.

“Would I go back to my old job?”……not in a month of Sundays (and those used to be my days off!)

He is extremely friendly and actively participates in all of our classes. At the start of each session he welcomes all children with a smile, a wave and a cuddle. Then he might sing or dance or pretend to be a train driver, a monkey or even a teapot.

Sometimes he hides and we have to look for him. Sometimes he falls asleep and he needs some help to wake up. Sometimes he is shy and we have to encourage him to join in with the fun. But he always makes time for plenty of hugs and kisses when it’s time for the children to say goodbye.

MEET OUR TEACHERS

  • Meet Diana Small

Hi.  I’m Diana and my first experience of Jo Jingles was when I bought my youngest son to classes with Aileen nearly 8 years ago.  We both loved it so much that I eventually become a class teacher – and haven’t looked back!

As a parent, it was valuable to have a regular point in the week to focus on enjoying music together. I was already aware of the power of music to express emotion, but through Jo Jingles, I have been struck by  the wider impact of music on language development, communication and socialisation.

I consider it a privilege to be a part of their social and language development at such a critical stage.

  • Meet Jillian Muir

I have been taking my daughter to Jo Jingles since she was 5 months old and we absolutely love it.  It’s always lots of fun with great music, singing and instruments.  It has also helped teach my daughter many social skills like sharing, taking turns, tidying and playing nicely with her peers.  I was delighted to get the job after choosing a career change.  The joy you get from the kids and seeing their wee faces light up is immeasurable.  I feel very privileged to be working as a Jo Jingles class teacher – best job ever!

Jo Jingles has helped Bailey’s confidence and was something that when she was a baby we could enjoy together in class and at home, where we practised the songs together. I also love the educational aspect where Bailey learns about different instruments etc. Now I enjoy the class with both my one year old and my four year old and will continue with the classes until both are at primary school. Both Bailey and Euan get a lot from the class.

My daughter, Mirren, has been attending jo jingles from 5 months old and has progressed brilliantly through this class. Her confidence and language development along with her physical development has greatly increased. Once her brother Òran came along he attended with Mirren from a young 6 weeks old! Fast forward 3 years and we still attend each and every week. The classes are fun and enjoyable for the children and this is all down to Aileen and her hard work!
Mirren says " Jo gets two thumbs up and two high fives!"

I have been taking my great grand daughter to Jo for a year now and we both love it. Sophia comes alive singing and dancing - it's such fun. It's also good to meet other folks and mix with their children. Aileen gives such variety and there is always something different. Classes are well planned and themed and I am of the opinion that attending the class has helped develop Sophia in so many ways. We sing the songs in the car and at home - even my husband is joining in now!!!

Both my children have benefited so much from Aileen and Jo Jingles. I wanted my children to be exposed to music from a young age and Jo Jingles has been the perfect environment. It's amazing to see them continuously develop with their singing and instrument playing skills and it's all credit to Aileen and her wonderful enthusiasm.

I've been taking my son to Jo Jingles since he was 6 months old. He is now approaching 4 years old and we continue to love every second! With delayed speech it has been great to have an activity which he not only enjoys but also helps encourage his speech and confidence. In the last few weeks he has started singing along and singing outside of classes. We moved areas 2 years ago and I was worried that a new leader might unsettle him. Aileen is amazing and I had nothing to worry about. Full of energy and enthusiasm even when faced with what can be an occasionally challenging audience! We love Jo jingles. Give it a try, I gave it a try on a whim 3 years ago and I have never looked back! (Plus if I ever need a few quiet minutes, sleeping bunnies provides some much needed assistance).

Nicola, mum to Samuel (3..approaching 4)
