Hi! I’m Rebecca English

Welcome to my Jo Jingles classes in Surbiton

Hi, I started my Jo Jingles journey when I attended classes with my two children (now aged 8 and 4).  I enjoyed participating so much that becoming a Jo Jingles teacher was an opportunity I couldn't refuse and following 2.5 years teaching, I took over the Franchise in 2015.

I grew up in a very musical household; my mother was a music teacher, we had a piano in the front room and I sang in both the church and school choir.  Following school, I pursued a career working in advertising agencies (some may say it's very similar to working...

I grew up in a very musical household; my mother was a music teacher, we had a piano in the front room and I sang in both the church and school choir.  Following school, I pursued a career working in advertising agencies (some may say it's very similar to working with children!) and production companies, in a variety of PA roles involving organising children's Christmas parties, sourcing anything from birthday cakes to bikes to climbing frames and even appearing in the odd TV commercial!  When I'm not teaching Jo Jingles, I'm mum to Olivia and Jack which often involves playing musical instruments, dancing and playing at being Jo Jingles teachers!

He is extremely friendly and actively participates in all of our classes. At the start of each session he welcomes all children with a smile, a wave and a cuddle. Then he might sing or dance or pretend to be a train driver, a monkey or even a teapot.

Sometimes he hides and we have to look for him. Sometimes he falls asleep and he needs some help to wake up. Sometimes he is shy and we have to encourage him to join in with the fun. But he always makes time for plenty of hugs and kisses when it’s time for the children to say goodbye.

MEET OUR TEACHERS

  • Meet Megan Garrett

I have worked with children, predominantly with special needs, for over 20 years.  I was introduced to Jo Jingles whilst taking one of my young charges to Rebecca’s classes.  I loved attending so much and saw first-hand the positive effect of music and movement within the fun learning experience of Jo Jingles that I asked to become part of the team.

When I'm not Jo Jingling, I am a nanny for 4 children and also support a young child with special needs at home and her nursery.

As parents it has been amazing to see the children progress, holding instruments to playing them to the rhythm; babbling to singing.
As a mother I will always remember the special first moments of the children hugging Jo, walking up to the box of instruments and directing the class with dance moves during Cool Cats (Albert's favourite song!).
Rebecca makes each lesson varied and fun. No one is more dedicated to making sure the children are happy and interested.
The 3-plus class in particular has enhanced the children's musical knowledge, learning notes, all orchestral instruments and music from around the world. As a result, the children (and us as parents!) now have a great appreciation to all genres of music. This year we thoroughly enjoyed Peter And The Wolf, The Can Can and Riverdance.
Without Jo Jingles the children would not have been exposed to such a variety of music. Jo Jingles has given our children the best start to life - a love of music.

We were introduced by a friend to join Jo Jingles when Rose was only 3 months old she's now about to turn one and we actually could not imagine Friday's without Jo!
We love the music and songs but also it’s so beautiful to see how Rose is developing and noticing that every week she can do different things like learning how to clap, playing various instruments and playing peek-a-boo. All things encouraged by JJ class.
No matter if your baby is teething or had a bad night, the moment the "Good Morning" song comes on the smile appears too.
We love how the class is organised so that babies are stimulated and entertained enough to drop straight off to sleep on the way back home.
Love Jo and Rebecca, couldn't recommend enough.

My daughter, Isla, has been taking Jo Jingles classes at nursery for over a year and loved it so much that we invited Jo to her 2nd Birthday party.
The party was a massive hit. Isla was in her element and knew all the songs and actions. She absolutely loved it.
From then on, I started taking her to an additional class with Rebecca. She loves that too and simply can’t get enough of Jo.
The classes, although similar in format are always different and sometimes themed to keep it fresh and interesting.
We now have our own “little Jo” and Isla takes her own classes at home multiple times a week!
We listen to Jo’s songs in the car too and she sings along happily.
When we are not in class Isla misses Jo and Rebecca and regularly asks to see them.
It really is her favourite thing to do.

Jo Jingles is the highlight of our week: for my son it is an opportunity to sing, dance, play instruments and immerse himself in a completely musical experience. For me it is a happy opportunity to observe him at his very best: happy, engaged and curious. I love watching him catch bubbles and jump about as a (not-so) sleeping bunny. It's clear Rebecca takes the utmost care to plan and prepare for each session so that every child feels involved and stimulated.

Thank you for the personalised note letting us know how Spencer has got on at Jo Jingles this term. I loved it and it made me smile from ear to ear! I have such fond memories of us doing the class together and I'm so pleased he still gets to see superstar Jo every week at nursery. It's definitely the highlight of his week!

I should've known that when he started touching his head to If You're Happy and You Know It a little while ago it was thanks to you and Jo! I was so proud!

Thank you for a great time at Jo Jingles this year. I know you had big shoes to fill when you took over from Laura, but you have done a fantastic job with fabulous accessories to accompany the songs (your house must be full of jumping monkeys & sleeping bunnies).
