MEET OUR TEACHERS
Meet Janine Fairgrieve
I have been part of the Jo Jingles team since 2011. I used to attend classes with my son and when a class leader vacancy came up I thought it would be something I would enjoy. I was right and have never looked back. Even coming back from maternity leave after having my daughter wasn’t a dread! I love seeing the joy we bring week after week. I like to think we bring out the best in the children by building their confidence with every class. My favourite song just now is “Playing the whole day through” which just sums up jingling perfectly.
Meet Karen Rennie
I have been jingling in Midlothian since 2015. I attended classes with my 2 children (now 10 and 8), they loved it! and I loved meeting other parents and seeing all the children interacting and having so much fun! Coinciding with my youngest starting school, the opportunity to become part of the team came along and I have never looked back! Seeing all the children develop and grow while having so much fun is just brilliant and meeting all the lovely parents and carers is a great added bonus, not to mention being part of a fantastic team of jingling teachers!
Meet Karen Masterton
I have been jingling in East Lothian since 2012. I attended classes with my 2 children (now 10 & 8). I loved going to the classes never mind my children, so when a class teacher position came up I knew it would be perfect for me! I love watching how excited the little ones get seeing Jo and toddlers when they know all the actions to a song. Everyone knows my favourite song is Mrs Bunny! I feel lucky to be part of the Jo Team.
Meet Linzi Conway
I’ve been jingling since 2015. I saw a job advertised with my two favourite things, kids and music, I thought I had to apply and I'm so glad I did! Classes are so much fun and I love seeing the children's smiles when Jo says Hi and how they grow in skills and confidence every week. I also enjoy taking Jingling sessions to local centres for children with additional needs; their response to the music, instruments and our sensory props brings such joy!
Meet Jane Mckay
I'm one of the newest members of the team. I started October 2015. My own boys are teenagers, twins of 13 and a 15yr old, Jo Jingles wasn’t around my way when they were little, they would've loved it, I'm quite sure. I love seeing the thrill on the children's faces when they bang their drums to 3 Fat Sausages, or their gangly routines to Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. Shake & Stop is one of my favourites. I've discovered I make funny faces whilst waiting for the music to restart and some of the children find them very funny indeed. I really enjoy being part of the Edinburgh, East Lothian & Borders team, it's a whole lot of musical madness and fun!
Meet Joanne Cooper
I am the newbie of the team having only started in August 2018. However as I have Jingled with my own 3 children for 8 years on and off, the songs and actions are already well imprinted in my brain. I was delighted when the opportunity came up as it fits around school hours and holidays as well as allowing me to have lots of fun with children and their special grown ups - what's not to love!! There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a child begin a class or term shy and unsure, come out of their shell and knowing that you were part of helping to build that confidence. I certainly seen this first hand with my eldest. I am really looking forward to beginning my Jo Jingles journey and meeting all the parents and children that come along with it.
