Hi! I’m Denise Maguire

Both my girls absolutely love Jo Jingles classes with Denise! My eldest was reluctant and a little too shy to engage fully for the first couple of classes but now stays with Denise at the front of the room for every class! She participates fully and has become such a 'social butterfly' having made so many new friends which she looks forward to seeing every week.

My youngest was born in lockdown in 2020 so was very shy and not accustomed to being surrounded by other people. Thanks to her Jo Jingles classes with Denise, she now has the confidence to join her older sister and Denise at the front of the room. She has learnt to wait her turn, to tidy up when we're finished playing with the instruments and confidently says 'hello,' 'goodbye' and 'thank you' when appropriate.

Denise welcomes each child every week and calls them all by name. She fully engages with all the children throughout each class and encourages them to improve on many different skills e.g. gross motor skills in balancing bean bags on their heads, fine motor skills in playing with the triangles correctly and listening skills in listening to instructions and to the beat of the music when singing certain songs

Jo Jingles has helped my daughter so much! She has made progress in confidence. At the start she wouldn’t leave my side and by the end of term she was up at the front with Denise! It’s so good as preparation for pre school. Turn taking, counting, following instructions all in a fun way for Mum and child!

The children absolutely loved it when Denise and Jo visited our school. The transformation in them was wonderful to see. The children were so engaged and listened to everything that Denise said. Denise catered for all abilities. Her enthusiasm in what she was doing was infectious and the children loved it! They participated in all activities and it was fantastic to see the more quiet children come out of themselves. It was a delight to hear all the laughter and giggles from both adults and children. We can't wait to have Denise and Jo back with us again.

Jo Jingles was a wonderful experience for P1 and P2 at Moat Primary School. The children looked forward to it every week. We sang songs, played instruments and danced to lots of action songs. The props Denise used were amazing . We caught bubbles and danced with colourful scarves. Children were so much happier after Denise and Jo's visits. The smiles on their faces were infectious throughout the sessions. The teachers and classroom assistants were encouraged to join in. The experience was always so uplifting to staff and children. The "Thank you Very Much" song was a real favourite. This is an experience which every child can benefit from. We will certainly be having Denise and Jo back next year!

The boys and girls at Christ the King School had the pleasure of working with Denise and Jo for 6 weeks. Over that time there was a marked improvement in the children’s ability to focus on a task and remain engaged. They thoroughly enjoyed the perfect balance of active time with calm time. Denise was very patient with all of the children and respectful of the varying needs among the children. Everyone was included and everyone’s participation was celebrated. The children looked forward to the sessions each week and were full of excitement to see what new instruments and resources they would get to use. Denise and Jo were able to offer a different, high quality learning experience that we simply couldn’t have offered to the children by ourselves. The level of expertise was superb! We are very much looking forward to welcoming them back to our school in the future.

Denise at Jo Jingles delivered some personalised sessions to a small group of adults with a learning disability during covid. The group really enjoyed the sessions, which presented them with the opportunity to use various pieces of sensory equipment. The sessions were fun, lively and created a great atmosphere. The music and singing encouraged group participation, developed confidence and skills. Jo Jingles has been really beneficial to our service and we will continue to avail of this fantastic opportunity.

Denise and Jo have been coming into Willowbridge each week to entertain pupils from our primary and multisensory departments and this has been the highlight of our school week, particularly after COVID. Each week is different and we have learned so much about themes such as Space, Minibeasts and Dinosaurs. We have loved singing dancing and playing along with Jo. Denise is excellent in her role, tailoring her programme to suit individual needs, interacting with and encouraging all our pupils to sing, dance and play. We can’t wait for more sessions with Denise and Jo after the Summer!
